The Belize Network of NGOs ("BNN", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website at belizengos.org and the associated BNN Member Lounge. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services.

We collect information you provide directly to us, and a limited amount of information automatically when you use the site.

• Account & membership details: your name, email address, phone number, organization name, and organization focus when you register, apply for membership, or complete the membership form.
• Contact & correspondence: information you include when you use our contact form or email us.
• Member content: documents, resources, and forum posts you upload or submit within the Member Lounge.
• Technical data: IP address and basic device/browser information, used for security, rate-limiting, and preventing abuse.
• Cookies & similar technologies: strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management, and Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from spam and bots.

03How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and process your membership application.
• To operate the Member Lounge and provide access to resources, documents, forums, and the member directory.
• To communicate with you about your account, membership status, events, and network updates.
• To respond to your enquiries submitted through the contact form or by email.
• To protect the security and integrity of our services, including reCAPTCHA verification and rate-limiting.

Where applicable, we process your personal information on the basis of your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), the performance of our membership relationship with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing our services, and compliance with legal obligations.

05How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to operate our services, with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Microsoft 365 — sending transactional and administrative emails.
• Microsoft Forms — collecting membership sign-up information.
• Google reCAPTCHA — spam and bot protection on our forms.
• Vercel — website hosting and content delivery.

06Member directory & shared content

If your membership is approved, certain profile details (such as your name and organization) and any content you choose to share may be visible to other approved BNN members within the Member Lounge. Please only share information you are comfortable making available to the member community.

07Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, and thereafter only as required to meet our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account at any time.

08Security

We use administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, access controls, and server-side verification of form submissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and continually improve our safeguards.

09Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request deletion of your personal information and account.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

11Children's privacy

Our services are intended for organizations and adults acting on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may also be communicated to members by email or through the Member Lounge.
