The overall goal is to build a more democratic, inclusive, and gender-sensitive architecture for good governance and public accountability in Belize.
- Policy Participation: Building the capacity of at least 25 local civil society organizations (CSOs) to engage in national-level policy dialogue and public accountability measures.
- Constitutional Reform: Advocating for and monitoring national constitutional reforms, specifically focusing on issues such as campaign financing, public disclosure, and witness protection.
- Legislative Framework: Modernizing the national civil society governance policy and legislative framework (including the harmonization of the NPO and NGO Acts) to foster a more transparent and equitable regulatory environment.
- Inclusive Representation: Ensuring that the voices of vulnerable and underserved populations—including women, youth, indigenous communities, and persons with diverse abilities—are mainstreamed into democratic reform processes.
- Digital Innovation: Utilizing digital technology to modernize CSO registration processes and increase the reach of public education campaigns regarding democracy and reform.
