PETAL closes three-year project with VenPro Fair

Empowering women entrepreneurs who would typically go under the radar was the purpose of PETAL’s VenPro Fair, held this past Saturday, July 5.

Promoting Empowerment Through Awareness for Les/Bi Women – PETAL, a proud member of the Belize Network of NGOs (BNN), focuses on the empowerment of its members and community through increasing knowledge and meaning capacity building.

Putting the work and businesses featured at the VenPro Fair in front of Belizean eyes is important not only to highlight the contribution of these entrepreneurs to society but also to give them much-needed visibility.

From handmade crafts of all kinds to a wide array of decadent food and organic beauty products, Albert Street’s end had a lot to offer this past weekend — and we’re sorry if you missed out.

President of PETAL, Charrice Talbert, told us that this event is the culmination of a three-year project executed by the organization, geared toward showcasing female entrepreneurs.

“We provided them with the necessary support — business mentoring and also provided spaces for them to be able to sell their products.”

Showcasing these women and their innovative products and services helps to give them the recognition they deserve, Talbert said.

We congratulate PETAL and all participants on an immensely successful event.
