TIDE is an NGO that works with communities to promote sustainable use and management of the Maya Mountain Marine Corridor’s rich natural resources.
We’re fostering sustainable use and management of the area’s rich resources, from the peaks of the highest forest ridges to the coral reefs of the ocean floor.
Our team of dedicated rangers, scientists, educators, and community stewards ensures that our four program areas are of the highest standards. Research and Monitoring guides policy and management action; Education and Outreach empowers local residents to be environmental stewards (and has won several awards for its Freshwater Cup football and environmental competition); Resource Management maintains the incredible diversity of life in the 3 protected areas; and our Community Development program supports the needs of the local people who are at the heart of our conservation efforts. Our pioneering initiatives bring people and nature together.
